Milestone reviewed more than 1500 sites in 2020 across industries and found the following results:

•    The average bounce rate is 50.7% with a low of 19.9% and a high of 91%
•    Pages per session is 2.23 with a low of 1.1 and a high of 9.1
•    Average session duration is 1:45 with a low of 0:12 and a high of 12:27

Sites with more than 200,000 sessions in the sample had a 40.6% bounce rate; sites with 9000-10000 sessions had a 46.5% bounce rate, which suggests that larger sites and bigger brands are doing better at engaging the users on the site
